We were shocked by the marketing tricks used by many sellers, who often claim to grow and process their mushroom supplements in the U.S., frequently using appealing images of mushroom greenhouses in the background.

The reality is that most Fruiting Body mushrooms are sourced from China – and that’s not necessarily a bad thing! China has centuries of expertise in mushroom cultivation and processing, while the U.S. has very limited experience (aside from a few small-scale operations). Sourcing mushrooms from China only becomes an issue when sellers prioritize cutting costs over quality, failing to purchase high-grade ingredients and neglecting to test for active compounds. That’s where we make a difference! As you might imagine, China offers a wide range of mushroom grades – well over 10 grades for most species – and the higher the grade, the more expensive the mushrooms are, with prices ranging from garden mulch to the price of gold.

The real issue for consumers is that many are unknowingly purchasing brown powder disguised as genuine medicinal mushrooms (whether in capsules, powder pouches, or mushroom teas/coffees), without knowing what’s truly inside. These lower-quality products are often bought cheaply and sold at a significant markup.

On that note, we don’t sell powder pouches or mushroom teas/coffees – because, quite frankly, they don’t make sense to us. These are merely marketing gimmicks used to repackage the same product under a different label. Capsules are pre-measured and eliminate the need for messy scooping like powders do. If you prefer adding your supplements to drinks or meals rather than swallowing capsules, our capsules can easily be twisted open, allowing you to mix the contents into your favorite drink or food, hassle-free.

VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN?

Our capsules are made from gelatin, which is not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets.

However, you can easily twist open our capsules and add 100% pure mushroom content to your favorite drink or meal.

Why do we use gelatin capsules?

Unfortunately, so-called vegetable or cellulose capsules on the market are of synthetic origin (such as HPMC/Hypromellose) and cannot be considered purely of vegetarian origin.
