Testing For Active Compounds
As we mentioned in our “About” page, we were unpleasantly surprised by the low quality of mushroom supplements available on the U.S. market. At the time of our research in 2024, we found that, out of the myriad of mushroom products, only three companies on Amazon – believe it or not – reported the percentage of beta-glucans in their products. We would like to acknowledge them here for their inspiration: Paul Stamets, Real Mushrooms, and FreshCap.
However, we still weren’t satisfied and wanted to do better for several reasons: First, to provide products with higher beta-glucan levels; second, to create product blends that make scientific sense to us; and third, to introduce a wider variety of species beyond the commonly known ‘famous’ ones.
As a result, all our products contain 40% beta-glucans, delivering 600 mg of beta-glucans in every serving (2 capsules). And, of course, we test every batch to ensure this consistency. While we periodically test for other important compounds, there are simply so many active compounds in mushrooms that testing every batch for all of them becomes cost-prohibitive. However, ensuring the proper extraction method for every batch is crucial to us, as it allows us to maintain high levels of other active compounds in all our products.
In addition, per FDA regulations (and to comply with Amazon’s strict adherence to these guidelines), we rigorously test all our products for
microbial contamination, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and stability. We also strictly follow
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) as outlined in
21 CFR Part 111, ensuring that every product meets the highest quality and safety standards.
