About Our Company
There are thousands of natural product dietary supplements on the market, especially mushrooms. So, why start another company?
When you take a closer look, you'll find that most products on the market, unfortunately, are of low quality, costing a significant amount of money (anywhere from $20 to $60 for a bottle or month’s supply) and offering very little benefit. How do we know this? Beyond our founder’s expertise in natural products chemistry and her extensive research into mushroom extraction processes, available extract grades, costs, and suppliers, we personally tested some of the products on the market and compared their effects with those of wild mushrooms.
In New Jersey, wild mushrooms have a short season, so we wanted access to high-quality mushroom extracts year-round for ourselves, friends, and family. After realizing it would be unfair to provide just a few dozen people with quality extracts while leaving others to waste money on ineffective powders and marketing gimmicks, we knew we had to act.
And that’s how our company was born!
All our Formulas were designed and developed here in New Jersey, originally for our own use, by our founder, Dr. Steinhertz, based on her review of hundreds of scientific publications and her 30 years of experience in natural products chemistry.
We also offer five individual mushrooms for customers who would like to add a single mushroom to their daily routine, create their own blend of mushrooms, or complement our existing Formulas.
About Our Founder
Dr. Rimma Steinhertz earned her BS in Chemical Engineering in 1992 and BS in Analytical Chemistry in 1995. She later earned PhD in Natural Products Chemistry and Rational Drug Design from Boston College in 2000, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. Over eight years of graduate studies, she focused on the synthesis and structure-activity relationships of novel antibiotics and drug candidates for oncology and cardiovascular conditions.
Alongside her research, she also taught Chemistry and Drug Design courses at both Boston College and Harvard.
After her academic career, Dr. Steinhertz spent more than 20 years leading preclinical and clinical drug development projects at major pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Her expertise spans various therapeutic areas, including inflammation, endocrine and metabolic disorders, CNS, and oncology.
During this time, she led numerous oncology clinical trials that resulted in the FDA approval of six commercial drugs, including Halaven® and Lenvima®.
While at Merck & Co., she managed a large team overseeing 250 clinical studies of Keytruda® across more than 30 tumor types.
Currently, Rimma works as a consultant to leadership teams within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Outside of work, she is a passionate advocate for healthy living and the benefits of natural products, firmly believing that nature provides everything needed for a happy life.
She enjoys hiking, nature photography, good food and wine, wild mushroom foraging, going to the gym, swimming, and spending time near anything water.
Above all, she treasures raising her three children and watching their football games and tennis matches.
Dedications and Gratitude
This project is dedicated to Dr. Rimma Steinhertz’s father, Leo Steinhertz, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2008.
Leo was more than just a father – he was a pillar of strength, a role model, and an enduring source of inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His passion for life and dedication to both physical and mental health was evident in everything he did. A lover of sports, particularly basketball and running, Leo embraced physical activity with the energy and enthusiasm of someone much younger. Even in the face of illness, he continued to inspire those around him with his perseverance, playing basketball and running until he was physically unable to continue due to cancer-related cachexia.
Leo’s unwavering spirit, his commitment to well-being, and his love for life left a profound impact on his family and friends, a legacy that continues to inspire Dr. Steinhertz to this day.
Dr. Steinhertz would also like to extend her deepest gratitude to all her former colleagues, who have always been a source of support throughout her professional journey – a journey filled with both thrilling achievements and challenging disappointments.
She would also like to honor the thousands of brave patients who participated in clinical trials she had the privilege to lead. Their courage and resilience have made her work meaningful beyond words for the past 20 years.
